These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of StudyOptima (the "Service"), operated by an individual sole proprietor ("StudyOptima," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are between 16 and the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf, and must be the one to authorize any purchase.
StudyOptima provides online study materials, practice questions, AI-assisted answer explanations, and AI-assisted essay grading intended to help candidates prepare for professional certification exams (including but not limited to CFA®, FRM®, and similar programs). The Service is a study aid — it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CFA Institute, the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), or any other exam-granting body. Trademarks referenced on the Service belong to their respective owners.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Accounts are for individual use only — sharing a single paid account across multiple people is not permitted.
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly, every 6 months, or annually, depending on the plan you select) until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless cancelled before the renewal date. We may change plan pricing for future billing periods with reasonable notice; continuing to use a paid plan after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
First-time purchase of a plan: if you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase of that plan, no questions asked. Contact us at support@studyoptima.com to request one.
This guarantee applies once per plan, per account. It does not apply to renewals, repeat purchases of a plan you have previously used the guarantee on, or purchases made more than 14 days ago.
Outside the 14-day window, you may cancel a subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancelling stops future renewal charges; it does not refund the current billing period, and you retain access through the end of the period you already paid for.
Free accounts include limited access to study materials and practice questions, plus a monthly allowance of AI-assisted messages (answer explanations and essay grading combined). Limits reset monthly and are subject to change. Paid plans may include higher or unlimited AI usage as described on the pricing page at the time of purchase.

All study materials, questions, explanations, and other content on the Service are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use this content for your personal exam-preparation study only, for as long as your account has active access. No other rights are granted.
Some content on the Service — including certain study materials, answer explanations, and essay-grading feedback — is generated or assisted by artificial intelligence tools and reviewed by our team for accuracy. Despite this review, AI-assisted content may occasionally contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. AI-generated essay grading and feedback are a study aid only and do not represent, predict, or guarantee how any official exam body would score your work. You should independently verify important information against official curricula and exam-provider materials before relying on it.
Content on the Service relates to finance, risk management, and related professional topics for educational and exam-preparation purposes only. Nothing on the Service constitutes financial, investment, legal, tax, or other professional advice, and it should not be relied upon as such.
We do not guarantee that using the Service will result in passing any professional exam or certification. Exam outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or discontinue the Service (or parts of it) at our discretion, with reasonable notice where practical.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your own country of residence.
